Hello from rothenburg!

We landed in Frankfurt this morning (9:30a their time). My awesome friend Kim picked us up and whisked us away on the autobahn. We are in garmisch right now but stopped in rothenburg on the way down. Roth.... Is one of the few remaining towns in which the city wall is still standing. It is beautiful and quaint and so so clean. After an extremely healthy lunch of sausage and sourcrout (spelling...?) we went around the town. One of the cool shops we went in was wall to wall christmas ornaments and was beautiful. Dallas has about 1,000 pictures. He also got his stein. Phew. Got that off the list! Tomorrow we are going to see the "Disney castle" and I cannot wait! Everything is so green and lush here. Maybe it just looks extra awesome since Colorado is so brown at the moment. Green Rolling hills, mtns, and a forest turning yellow.

We definitely won't be here long enough. Will have to come back for sure.

We are actually doing this thing!

>
> If I knew security was going to be this quick and easy this morning I would have gone running longer.
>
> We are sitting at our gate, waiting for what is one of our shorter flights (<3hrs). Today we head to Dallas for a brief layover and then to Frankfurt. We will land at 8:30 am there, where my good college buddy Kim will pick us up and swoop us off to garmisch. Not sure how much Internet we will have there but I will blog when I can!
>
> It was nice leaving my doggies in good hands this morning. Will be weird wearing dog-hair free clothes for 2 weeks. A special thanks to aunt Cindy for the lift to the airport, construction and all.

Whirlwind!

Wow!  Happy Friday to everyone!

Whew this week went by fast.  with a sampling event last saturday, one again tuesday and then my thing last night....africa has never looked better.  all the chocolate is successfully out of my fridge and sold!  what a good feeling.

the pic above is part of my table for my sponsorship thing last night.  i'm a sponsor for the cyclist-lawyer cycling team and was in charge of the dessert table (phew!  i can't make anything else BUT dessert).  thank my mom and martha for the cupcake ideas.  they were a big hit.

house is being cleaned, gretta has pancreatitis, and we just have to do laundry and pack.  "just" being a relative term because it sounds so much more simple than everything else we've had going on.

we love our house & dog sitters and will be blogging from abroad soon!
stay tuned...

Pumped!

I just want to say a giant thank you! I sold 75 boxes in 3 hrs yesterday! It was so fun sampling to folks!

Please disregard my super toned arms in this photo. I know you are all jealous but you have to work really hard at not having workout time to pull this gun show off.

Today is the day!!

I have some really great people in my life. Props to Dallas and aunt cindy being there for me before I had a complete breakdown. But today is my big launch party at cured (18&pearl boulder). Come down between 12-3 and eat chocolate! Not everything is perfect like I want it to be, but its going to work.

We had a little printer issue this week. It went like this:

(plan a) Tuesday: I begin making boxes on my printer on the 100# paper, which the paper is totally being a brat and not printing well at all. It starts to work.

Wednesday: I talk to my marketing friend. 100# paper isn't good enough for first impression stuff. We should use the extra thick cardboard stuff which my printer won't print on. But kinkos has had luck printing on it in the past. (plan b) I drop my paper and order off that evening, feeling great that I actually planned ahead.

Thursday: kinkos is swamped and getting repair stuff done to their printer. Can I wait until tomorrow noon? Not ideal but we can make it work.

Friday:
Noon: no call
2pm: they are still working on printing it
4pm: still working on it
6pm: about ready to lose it, I drive down to see what is going on. I mean, surely they are done with my 100 boxes, right? Nope. They got some roller changed out and are wasting 2 sheets for every 3 going thru. I had to special order this paper. I leave the store about ready to cry.

Plan c: go to office depot. They can't do it because they are short staffed but could have it ready in the morning. I can't wait until then. Call staples. They can't do it either.

Plan d: go home and cry. I will have to use the 100# paper and just make it work. Not my #1 choice, but at 7:30 I'm desperate. My printer will take all night. Dallas suggests we go to undisclosed place to print. It prints great! All 120 front/ back pages look great!! Go home. What? Die cut doesn't line up? Huh? It does when I print a b&w copy on our printer. Dallas and I missed the minute "shrink to fit" Button nestled in some secret spot. Awesome. Now I have 15 sheets left of my 100# paper.

Plan e: (10:00)knight in shining armor, Dallas, offers again to go to undisclosed place just to see if my 15 sbs cardstock will work. It works! So so happy!!! Well, the 2-pack doesn't print off well since it keeps cutting off part of the boxes. I don't care. Print what you can Dallas!!!

11:30. Begin the die cutting/folding/glueing process. So, so happy my die cut work.

2:15a: finish all the boxes.

Plan f: Andi goes to friends house at 7am to use printer that works. Print quality isn't there but beggars can't be choosers.

See you at noon!

A deep love

We all love our gretta jean, but fritz has more love for her than any of us do here as he is willing to hang out in the deadly gas zone just to snuggle

this saturday, 9.22.12

hello!

so busy here--
working on printers, making tons of boxes, and later this week will be all chocolate!

this saturday is my launch party at:
Cured
18th & pearl in boulder
late morning - all afternoon

so much to do before our germany/africa trip next saturday.  we have great house & dog sitters but i don't even think i have enough clothing for this trip.  (definitely lacking on the neutral clothing required so that elephants don't run us over-- i can't make myself buy neutral clothing---so, so painful!)

still up for today:  100 boxes to make.  yikes.

come up and see us saturday!

WEBSITE TIME!

it's been a good day.  i dropped my first retail order off & got my website rolling.  i seriously dropped them off and came home.  i don't know if they sold, or if anyone is even going to buy them, and as much as i have to do for upcoming events i need to slow down and celebrate small victories!  i have such a hard time with working non-stop and tackling the next project that it's good to take time for happy things.

so here is my website!  my online store isn't up yet--- but if you need chocolate i can definitely get you what you need--just email or call!

if by chance you are bored next saturday, come to the store in boulder for my launch party!

Cured
18th & pearl
afternoonish.
i'll be there most of the day but will said that most of the people are there from 12-4.  no only are we sampling chocolates but they have great meats, cheeses and coffee too!

Go buy chocolate!

This is just a friendly reminder that today chocolate is available retail at cured in boulder. (18th & pearl).

Also--- mark your calendars for next saturday (22nd) to come to cured for my launch party!!!

Home depot

I would like to give zach, home depot associate, extra props for hooking me up tonight. He will be receiving chocolate here in the near future. We cut my dies tonight, they fit in my press.... And soon my exacto knives will be nonexistent.

It is a happy day!!!

chocolate

it's crunch time here!  working on selling into stores on friday!  my website will be pretty functional at that point.  here's a sneak peak!

http://andichocolates01.businesscatalyst.com

assuming that even one retailer wants to sell these things.... every single one of you will need to plan on going to the store and purchasing at least one box.  (i'm being serious)  (comon--support small non-obama made businesses!)
i will give you all the gooey details of where to go later this week.

Well hello, bill Snyder

The lens I was using was a bit overkill for how close bill was.

Our weekend

We are having a blast in manhattan ks, hanging out with family and friends. One of tr highlights was the first home game for Ksu. Our friend works for the band and "needed" some media help down the field. It was really painful watching the touchdown 10 feet away but I guess someone has to do it.
