Dear yard,

Thank you for growing yourself without my help.

Convection is AWESOME!

Against my better judgement I tried out the oven today (I only worry because I'm a fairly messy cook and person in general and it is just so clean I didn't want to mess it up). This thing is fancy pantsy. The convection aspect of it is to die for. The first thing I made: fresh rhubarb pie using rhubarb from the farm. (Don't worry dad---- I'm saving some rhubarb for you when you come!!!). I don't want the risk of getting my stove dirty but I might have to bake something else because its so fun! (And if we ever move this is comin with).

Done!

Minus a few touch ups, we are done. My great (adj wonderful, not great as in old) aunt Cindy showed me how to tile my backsplash yesterday. I just need to caulk and seal! Yay!

I'm a lucky girl

I am welcome at the Longmont dairy to fix my homesickness and help if I want. Tonight I got to help Enrique and paco feed the 130 calves. Super great. These are only part of what got fed tonight

Today my aunt Cindy and I got a bunch of stuff put away. A few more cardboard boxes down! Yahoo! Thank you aunt Cindy! We also got the ginourmous electrical panel hidden. Of further exciting things.... Our contractor marked our marble countertop with sharpie marker. Super. The thought of it makes me want to pull my hair out. Can you find the blue dots?

We have gas.

Today we hooked up the gas line to our stove. Yes! This marks Dallas' first Americano of the new kitchen (hopeful to be completely done this week)

The best purchase

I hate picking weeds out of the rocks. Dallas found this handy dandy tool at lowes---- the inferno. Instead of picking weeds we just burn them. It's super. So super that some of the neighbors have heavily hinted they would like to give it a test drive.

Our house

Sad, but true.

Uppers

Today shad and I stuck in the upper cabinets. We stuck them in to make the most of our space. Shad told me that if I ever wanted to, someday I could cut the middles out and put glass in. Yep. Something that will never happen here. I lots of unorganized stuff planned for those cabinets.

almost done!

holy smokes we are close.  SO close.

well.... kinda.
i keep seeing how many paint touchups i have to do and want to throw my brushes across the room.  UGH.  it's FINE.  JUST FINE.  i thought they were putting trim back up.  nope.  other than that....

we have a hood!

(don't worry-- i'm still in process of taking the white stuff off)

we have a rail so you don't fall down the stairs.  well, lets just say that this is by no means up to code... but if you are over the age of 5 and fall down the stairs... no code standards will help you.

stairs before   (we lived with this for how many years?  UGH.  what were we thinking?)

stairs now.  yes.  there is more touchup and painting to do here.  my risers aren't perfect, but if you compare it to our "before" pic, you don't really care.

so much more open!  don't worry.  someday (maybe when my dear father comes out and wants a project) we will work on this.  also... i do have an appointment with the paint trash people to get rid of a few unneeded gallons.  i mean, its all stuff from the previous homeowners because i would NEVER pick out a wrong color.  ever.  :)

Chocolate

Don't you wish you were going to Chris & Lisa's wedding this weekend?
