hello everyone! we are here!!!
talk about busy week!

1) ROOMMATE! (or more commonly known as beth) was here to visit. oh how i missed her! beth is moving to boulder for the next 15 months for massage school. can not wait to have her here!

2) as soon as beth left, i got sick. nothing bums me out more than being sick on a good weather weekend. i spent most of friday and saturday sleeping. today i rode my bike for the first time in a LONG time. it hurt.....very badly! (this was the pic we took prior to our trip just incase someone decided to break in again)

3) this bike could really stand being replaced, but the money for that will all go towards ezra's expensive knees project. it seems he has sprained his left knee, which is what happened last time...... guessing an ACL surgery is coming up within the next couple months

4) i hate to toot my own horn but i'm a pretty darn good rose grower. ok, i actually take no part in these things growing, but they just do by themselves. go roses!

5) since i've been sick, we've been hooked on watching the deadliest catch. it's intense. the guys that do this are crazy!!!

life after vacation

sorry everyone!
it seems as if we brought the NW back to co with us.
go get your laundry done!

so far the weekend has looked like this:
sleep
laundry
sleep
laundry
eat
clean
sleep

check out the rest of our vacation that i finally blogged!

vancouver

somehow i was able to talk our friends into vacationing in vancouver for a few days. it was super great. sorry for not blogging there. we were on the 28th floor of the hotel and the only free internet was in the lobby. i was just too lazy. :) we did walk about 10mi a day, so that was really good for marathon recovery

vancouver is beautiful and has every kind of culture there.
highlights to follow:
climbing the grouse grind. basically this is a giant stairstepper that goes a mile up. the actual grind was closed for renovations but we found a different trail up. the forest was beautiful and it seemed like we were walking thru select scenes of starwars.
humid. dallas taking a rest break
we made it to the top!
vancouver has a pretty nice aquarium.
it's a good thing to do when it's raining outside
as long as you don't mind weaving between herds of children
thanks SO MUCH tony and teri for going with us
it wouldn't have been the same without you!

seattle day 2

d and i knew that we would forever be given a hard time if we went to seattle and didn't check out the space needle..... so we paid the extremely high tourism prices and went up
and guess what? it was cloudy up there too!
we wern't surprised.
mickey (dallas' cousin, our local tour guide) assured us that skies were clear the day after we left.
SUUUUUUUUURE, mickey.
we also checked out the water.
i would have loved to gone out for a boat ride on the trip but we didn't make it. oh well. i'll take any outdoor activity i can get. for some reason i LOVE this picture
later that day we took the coastal starlight train (i believe this is right) from seattle to vancouver. surprisingly this was one of my favorite parts of the trip. if i am ever to be forced from co, i know exactly where i'm going to move.....
HERE
beautiful farmland, mountains and water.
we might move there anyway

seattle day 1

post marathon, day 1:
stairs are difficult
people at the market look at me funny while i walk down the stairs
also, fine motor movements in legs don't work well.
actually they are non-existent
wearing marathon finisher tshirt to bed.
i will probably wear it until my next one
(ooops did i just say that?).
i think i deserve to wear it that much

today we went down to the public market
(dallas & cousin mickey ate lots of food and diuretics like coffee. i guess yo'ure supposed to drink coffee while in seattle? anyway, the caffeine rule does not apply on vacation)
and walked around the locks
(which were really cool!)
they were cool until dallas got the camera and takes pictures of this (because it is "cool")
instead of things like this:
and this is what i think of it
we are really having a great time here!
more of seattle tomorrow

i did it!

i'm not sayin my time..... it was bad.
it was very bad
but i finished.... and that was my "last resort goal"
i'm not a person who likes running in the heat.
apparently it was an abnormal year as all the locals were even complaining how hot it was....
a major out and back water station ran out of water
it just wasn't good.
i'm halfway blaming it on that.
(am i allowed to do that?)
coming around the bay and seeing this bridge was the BEST thing in the entire world. only 3 more miles left at this point!!

newport is beautiful
and so is seattle

day 1

we made it here!

highlights of today include:
motorcycle ride from randy (dallas' dad)
(am i not the toughest looking rider or what?)

a drive thru the coastal mountains
and checking out the "race" venue.
let me assure you that even though this is a timed event it is by no means a race, but a finishing goal instead!!! only one huge hill and beautiful scenery
we will be finishing up by this

whewwwwww-----weeeeee!
whoever thought of the concept of "working full time" needs to have a mental check. sorry for the delay folks. i've got just a little too much going on over here!

one of the most exciting things is that we got dallas' bike back!!!
just "thumbing" thru ebay one night d found a bike similar to his at a pawn shop in aurora. we looked thru all the detailed pics and it was his bike! what are the odds!? the police were able to seize it from the shop and he's all happy again. PHEW.

the odds of this happening are like 1/10000000000
we should have bought a lottery ticket

may i add......
big "efficient" looking laundry rooms are overrated. DO NOT look at a magazine and wish you had ginormous counter tops. you can sure pile a lot of laundry on here.
