yip.... this semester is starting off at lightening speeds

looks like i just kissed my care-free summer away.
now i can be a hypocondriac (no, not a national spelling bee champ; actually only made it to the local one my 4th grade year and got buzzed out on sentry) all summer. just what i needed!

also, my fabulous friend bobbi is running a marathon this weekend and needs songs for her ipod. if you have a suggestion she'll take it!

this past weekend i had the awesome opportunity to surprise my good friend teri for her birthday. her husband flew me into kc for the weekend and it was a pretty good time!

also, because TSA has such a GREAT sense of humor and are just so fun to work with i decided to have fun with them too. i painted my bag just in case i had to check it.

of course i only did this so it would be easier to identify it when it got off the carousel :)

hey everyone! it's my last super free weekend for a long time and so do'nt check back here till sunday-- i'm doing non computer things!

tonight during dinner we watched the national spelling bee. dallas really liked this since compared to some of the brilliant nerd children he looks "normal."

i think this could possibly be the best puppy eyes look ez has ever given me...

it's rained a whole bunch lately. dallas told me not to complain.... but ez and i got cabin fever real bad and we both complained. there were others not enjoying the downpour as well.

the dalphemiums (i'm 105% sure the spelling isn't right on this) would have much preferred a nice garden hose sprinkle. poor things

yes yes beezer, i've had a boring blog.
i have got some stuff done despits my procrastinating spells.
first we organized the closet downstairs. this used to be a gross white color and everything you see here was piled up on the floor.

also we smoked some pork loin yesterday. it was an all day effort and EVERYTHING (even william) smells like smoke.

we also got a new furniture addition. we have purchased a futon (with down cover that is comfy) for those of you who would like to stay here we don't have to blow the air mattress up anymore! please note that william has adopted this as his own bed and there is an ugly green sheet on it for now. it really does look better in person.
william spends about 8-11 hours a day sleeping here
when it hasn't been raining ez has been playing ball
and since i got an A in my micro class i have a microscope for sale now.

back in the day when i really didn't have a lot to do with my time i helped william create a profile on facebook. surprisingly he has a bunch of friends but i've since forgotton his user name and password.

apparently he remembered because when i signed in to let dallas take the "what's your geek level" quiz i surpsingly had an IQ challenge from william, and may i note my cat is most astonishing--- he's leading my other friends in the IQ quiz!

i have 2 weeks before summer school starts up and i am LOVING it


yes believe your eyes.... i actually planted real live flowers that need care and attention

this is quite a big feat for me because i had to pick out flowers that i new i could maintain. (ie high sun, low water, come back every year). this took a very long time. afterwards i was so excited about this that i called dallas at work and told him exactly WHERE i planted them.

dallas is sleeping on the couch for 2 reasons tonight:
1) he tried walking past them on his way into the house
2) when i did make him go back and look all he says
"what did you plant? dandilions?"
no dallas, not all yellow FLOWERS are weeds

Dear Aunt Sylvia, (#2)

it's the middle of may and we're about 60% certain that we won't be getting any more snow. our plants are thinking the same way and only 60% of them are actually growing. this little bush (on left) is pretty ugly to start off with but when only half grows it's extra ugly. any recommendations for a beautiful, easy to maintain gets sun replacement?

also, the people that lived here before us put these (stupid) plastic round things in (look at right on picture). are they necessary if there is already a plastic seperation from the mulch stuff and the grass?

also, a reader wondered since you have advice for lawn balding if you know of any hints for head balding as well (i'm assuming this person is a man)
for readers in response to yard balding. if you were wondering:

Does the grass pull up easy or can you kind of roll it up--Could be grubs though this is a little early.

Especially if your lawn is shady and has been damp--could be a fungus. Do the blades have spots or stripes on them or a mildew or rust that you can wipe off--check on the edge of the spots where there is still some green left

people were kind of wondering who dallas' dressed up date was to the wedding but the tan lines helped assure everyone that yes, it was me after all
we are looking forward to hitting manhattan for a week this summer for my brother's wedding. i can't wait to hammer with the guys on flat roads in the wind with an abundance of O2. surely that's not too much to ask for, is it?

Dear Aunt Sylvia--
I have voluntarily signed you up for andi's yard advice committee.
here is the first problem:

after i picked all the dandilionsi found that my yard is balding. (it is doing this in a couple spots)
any suggestions?

i went home this past weekend. going home is the best vacation for me. here are a couple pics.

ezra is SPOILED. not only does he get showered with attention BUT my dad decided to really spoil him and brought ez some bones back from the pasture. unfortunately he thinks they are house worthy.my parents' cats have also adopted a new transportation system on the farm. it's called I-kitty-5. they have made their own trails on the yard.
yes, you probably think this is a RIDICULOUS concept.... but they actually use it!

this may look like dallas is listening to some great tunes, but, 3 weeks ago he lost his phone and refuses to get a new one. since he hasn't found it yet he found some app for the itouch to convert his touch to a phone via voiceover.
he has the best of both worlds: can call out, get nothing in.

i think sometimes dallas secretly wonders why some studying days are more productive than others. well, dallas, today happens to be a less productive day due to.....

it's supposed to snow for the next 24 hrs, so i feel very good about working on my report since no one else gets to ride either and i'm not missing out. :) today is catch up from the week around here....

this is for my mom--- everyone wants love and william is no exception. several time a day, actually, he comes and jumps on my lap while studying
it takes a lot of work to get dallas out of the house in the mornings. i really "love" the days that i turn around after the door shuts and find a secretly placed lovely little present from his office on the counter......uhm dishwasher is on the other side of the sink!
ez has a little friend visiting for 4 days. campi is a good boy though and fun to have around!
one day i said i had to go pick up some stuff at the grocery store, chocolate chips being one of my items to buy. dallas quickly pipes in that he likes the ones in the brown bag more and i should buy them more often. hmm....wonder why? maybe because it tasts like a candy bar? (dallas is becoming quite the chocolo-holic)

dallas has lost his phone and so for the 2nd time in 3 years he has emailed in "sick" to work. he could have very well been sick but i wans't around to witness it. if you're looking for some nerd reading material check out his blog..... if yo'ure into cars and understand that type of thing.

dallas tried getting little blue started up. a new battery and new starter later and we're still trying to figure out the problem. maybe "we" isn't a good word.

Saturday we had Bobbi's surprise 30th birthday party! i must say it was a pretty good time!
this weekend i got a lot done but not my 4 page single spaced size 12 times new roman chemistry report that is due tomorrow (with citation)...... 11:49 and 2 pages down! William is learning a lot about robotic technology in the OR

if 3's not a crowd than 4 is for sure

somehow dallas sweet talked me into agreeing to buy the jeep he's wanted for the last 10 years. (M38) i have to admit, after it's back to military green and roll cage is off ez and i will look pretty cute driving it :)

so yesterday's blog was a hoax....... the only thing we're really expecting is a bunch of non spring weather for the weekend

ez has been extra good lately so he got to go to the toy store. anyone know where the gym is? ez has started lifting his barballs.

there's a reason i've been super tired lately.......
