spring cleaning

it is that time of year where i can easily persuade myself into anything besides studying. what could i possibly do besides study?
it's been busy here!

saturday:
dallas, my dad, adam and chelsie take stella to salt lake city to sit in their AMAZING row 10 seats. unfort we lost but gosh, what a stellar season for ksu!

jen and i help host bobbi's baby shower!

sunday:
catch up on stuff around house. if you've never seen our yard, it's rather large and has a lot of shrubbery...... i'll get to this later.

dallas takes me downtown to his new office. freak out now people... the man has gone corporate on us AND only gets to wear blue jeans once a month (as opposed to every day). on top of all that he also gets a blackberry and will soon have to get a man-purse to carry his work phone, computer, cell phone and itouch around all at once.

we also decide on new insurance options for ourselves. (we thought for sure obama-care would be out by now and it would be an unfortunate easier choice ). to make us feel better the nice people downtown are also giving us options.(did i mention being generous too? free samples?)

today:
today is pretty exciting around here. the 5x8' patch of snow/ice in our back yard is all that remains from the snow we got at halloween! as thrilling as this is (giving us a new place to play ball), ez and i had to first take care of his bajillion dookies, which FILLED up an entire wal-mart bag. yuck ez. anyway, he loves to take his favorite toys out in the snow & so we finally found all missing members of ez' toy collection:

as of tuesday we have 99.5% of the sheetrock up! YAH!

here is dallas with the last piece. all we have left is 4 tiny pieces to line the windows!

after the joint compound the fun stuff starts!

SNOW DAY! (week 2)

it seems like we were just having a snow day.... oh yeah . that was only last week!

everyone in our house has differing opinions of snow days.

dallas:
"i might come home early. probably not. just depends."
he doesn't care one way or the other... no reason to take off work. business as usual (talk about party pooper!!! take a snow day and play with me!)

andi:
" heck ya! snow day?! i'm game!"
although i can't run outside i can still make cookies and do p90x. and even if i did have to work i wouldnt go in. last night i had a 5 hr commute home in this stuff and see no reason to really go anywhere today

ezra:
" snow days are fun! i get to play frisbee in the snow!"
william:
"hm....besides ezra's dog food what else would be good? ooh yes, a nap. that's very pleasant sounding."
william practices all year long for days like today. this is like his olympics.

nerd + hobby lobby

i had to make a hobby lobby run tonight.
d offered to stay in the car but i thought it would be boring for him,
so he came inside. shopping in the paper isle he says,
"wow! there is a lot of wavelengths in this isle."
and i wished that he'd stayed in the car after all....

d's parents are in town this weekend & his dad had to bring his new (and nice!) gun to show off. this thing has a laser beam on it so you know exactly what you're aiming at (this would be a defense mechanism geared more toward people like me that most probably have an awful shot and you wanna make sure you're hitting your target)

anyway, so here i am, holding this (yes mom, it's unloaded) gun and decide to play laser beam tag with william.

days like today....

really make me miss my jeep.
it was so good in the snow.

yes, my little white jeep has been replaced. i really don't remember when we got stella (my new car, named because she's pretty sassy) but it was a couple of weeks ago. stella is a little mazda 3 hatchback and has got some zip. unfortunately someday i'm sure we'll find ourselves in trouble with the po-pos.
this week at our house has been non-stop study for ochem test week. it wasn't much fun. d and i also filled out brackets. loser has to do dishes for a week. he's killing me. nevertheless i LOVE march madness and the snow gives me a good excuse to not feel so bad about watching it nonstop.

also, ez had his final xrays and check up today and this whole acl process is finally over!! she said we can "slowly" start adding things into his exercise regimen. what the vet didn't know was that we've been playing ball for the past month. no wonder his leg is so developed already! :)

weekend

ever since our big day outside it has taken ez a long time to recover and we find him in weird poses like this:and this:

it hasn't failed yet this semester. whenever i have a huge week of tests (yes, plural!) we seem to get a lot accomplished on the laundry room. at this rate i'll be forced into taking ochem2 just to get it all done. we are currently sheetrocking and ya gotta give it up to dallas who did a LOT today.
our jobs include:
dallas: do most (well, 99.5% of) the measuring, cutting, fitting, re-wiring of cords, drilling new holes....etc
andi: do homework, come down & check on progress, screw sheetrock onto wall, do homework, joint compound, do homework, screw more sheetrock, homework, sand sheetrock. my jobs included doing major thinking, like hw upstairs, and anything that didn't require any brainpower downstairs.

tired as a dog

ez got a lot more activity in than he normally does today.
tonight he decided to start pre-sleeping for bedtime around 5:00.

this is one tired little doggie.

william fights back

and diverted dallas' boobie trap once again

dallas passed his drug test so it's official,
he starts his new job march 26th.
now he'll be working downtown in a tall building.
here is our conversation filling out his paperwork last night:

dallas [filling out name, address....comes to marriage date. PAUSES]
writes: 9.9.06

andi: HA ! you missed it! you didn't get it right! it's the 6th!

dallas: oh really? nuts. i always get confused
[he actually listens to me...has 2 copies, fills out one with 9.6.06 and puts it along with all other papers in envelope, seals it and sticks stamp on outside]

***hours later***

dallas (who had recently used our anniversary for a password): i was right! our anniversary really is the 9th! i used it to sign in tonight

andi: really? oops

yes, i missed it. i get this wrong every single time! i also missed this our first anniversary, and probably other ones too. never the less, dallas has decided to get me flowers on the 6th AND 9th just to make sure he has all his basis covered. smart man :)

now may i add....if missing the anniversary wasn't enough, dallas was required to spell out his middle name for the paperwork. for this reason it is good that he had 2 copies of this as well.
why?
because dallas, for the past 5+ years, has been spelling his middle name meredith. we had to pull out the birth certificate for passport stuff and it's really spelled: meridith.

it is past 4:00 and i just realized
that ez is nowhere to be found....

all about ez

you know spring is coming when your extremely shaded yard (that still has snow from november) starts to melt. along with the snow melting, all of ezra's perfectly preserved dookies (from november until now) also start to appear. today, while it was 43 and snowing ez and i went out and started picking up some of the damage. you don't realize how much your dog poops until days like these.

as some of you may or may not know.... ezra has been sleeping in our bed since we got him. i know, he's spoiled and having a 75 lb critter in the bed is like inviting an overweight 5th grader to join 2 adults in a queen size bed.... it's not comfortable, there's not much room and when ez gets frustrated with his sleeping arrangements he likes to sit on you until something is done about them.

ever since we started playing ball, going on walks, wearing him down so much that he goes to bed ON THE FUTON at 7:30..... dallas and i have become pathetic. we purposely stay up until ez is fast asleep on the futon and (no joke) tip toe downstairs and get into bed. i keep asking myself.... are we really whispering and hiding from A DOG!?! we are. how sad.
we have had 2 nights of doggie freedom and i've never slept better. when i mentioned this to my mother she said it was like having a kid..... and someday he would realize that he got left in his own bed and come join us. sure enough. the other morning, 5:30 am the wet nose found me. nuts.

must come up with new plan.

productive friday

ahhhh. i love fridays. no work, no school.....
only playing catch-up, but that, yes, i can handle that!

besides doing homework, one of the more productive things we have done at the house is give everyone baths. (since d gets home tonight i thought that we should all be clean, and smell like coconut!.... and it has been a long time since everyone has had one). when i say everyone, that means that i inadvertently get a bath too. d has the camera right now, but here are some good representations of us after bath time.

me: soaked, but thanks to keratin in our skin i only have to change clothes

ezra: voluntarily jumps into bath tub and sits down, full well knowing there's a good rub down and treat awaiting him afterward. he is needing brushed out but is doing his happy dance around the house, making sure to rub it into william that bath-time is really fun. (he also intruded on william's bath and stuck his nose in his face. this went over, well, not so well).

william: quickly snatch the willimator off the couch and immediately stick under warm water before he really has a clue of what is going on. instantly later, pure panic terror overcome this little kitty. in attempted escape he accidentally turns on the shower head, like he's trying to get his revenge. currently: giving ez the evil eye while he's licking himself off.

SO productive

in addition to tuesdays being the worst day of the week, thrusdays definitely give them a run for their money. the only interesting thing that i heard today was that the us was going to strip lindsay vonn of her gold medal. so sad. but, the government needed to give it to obama instead since he's going downhill faster than lindsay did.

i come home and the remote's batteries are out. i'm too lazy to change the batteries (even though i have some to change out with ) but am also too lazy to get up and change the channel or volume.
talk about a catch 22
so instead i just sit there and blankly stare.

aaaaand we're back!

we had such a busy weekend here!

since my brother is such a nice guy, he got us really awesome seats for the airforce hockey game on friday. what a different experience than watching the avs! my parents even decided to join us! yes!

we also had friends out from ks all weekend, celebrating larry's 30th birthday! of course somehow everyone escaped the camera. all i can say is that if everyone lived here i'd be quitting school and going on spontaneous fun trips every weekend.... maybe after school you all can move out here! nevertheless we had homemade german chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream for the big 3-0 today!
