oh happy day!
27 days after i tore up the first tile we finally finished up. (sans sealing grout this sunday and installing new light which is supposed to be shipped sometime in October). i'm super impressed we did it all ourselves and even had 7 nonworking days in the middle. we have both decided that for our sanity, and check book, the next one will have to wait for a little while.

happy anniversary dallas!
dallas and i both forgot about our anniversary today until my mom texted us. (thanks mom!) we originally had plans to go toilet shopping, so, as the ever hopeless romantics, we stuck to the plan and hit up home depot this evening. on the way there we laughed as i looked up "8 year anniversary gifts" and low and behold... ceramics popped up. apparently toilet shopping was a good idea after all.
as an anniversary splurge we opted to get the touchless flush adapter. we're sooooo crazy!

Safety first
When you don't trust a small string to hold down your mattress the next best option is to use your hands.

Whewwwwwie!
Where have we been or what have we been doing for the last for forever? One day I decided to "see what's under this bathroom tile".... Which 5 hrs later resulted in a completely gutted bathroom. We are getting it all put back together. Rock Crete done. Plumbing done. Floor got tiled today.
In more news, I went home for a week- which was great! The chickens are enjoying their free range time. And it's back to the grind tomorrow. Happy Labor Day!
