so today i went out on a very wonderful ride. i went up a trail, down another, back up that trail, and then down the original trail. on the 2nd trail i passed some people that were going up and then i met them when they were going down. i said, "hi again!" and the lady riding behind her husband says "what are you? some kind of maniac!?"

bicycle ride
i think yesterday's little work commute trashed my legs so today i only rode up lookout at a pace slower than all the tris grinding up the mtn in their aero bars. i decided to rest on the way down and not pedal the entire time. apparently the cops have started traffic control. as i turned a bend in the road i got clocked by a radar gun and then was told to slow down and go the 20mph speed limit. i wasn't even pedaling!!!

friday comute
so today lisa and derek talked me into riding my bike into work. i think that's today's song, while riding the white line with no shoulder on Indiana was bon jovi's "living on a prayer." here is today's riding profile according to my extremely precise internal GPS.yes, arrows in red indicate the times that i was hating my life. this was when i was going up the hill dragging an extra 23 lbs of messenger bag on my back. if you're looking for incentive to lose weight, ride a bike around with a bag of flour. i'm pooped!

sorry for the extreme delay in blogging. i have been taking a class to learn how to plaster floor tiles and countertops, and sidewalks.... basically anything. now i'm amazing. :) just kidding!
since i've been at class there has been nothing amazingly exciting in my life to report. this is how exciting the week has been, demonstrated by william, who lays on the top of the couch and stares at the wall.

work moves
so i thought i'd post a really really great picture of me at work. here i am, demonstrating why it's so important for us faux-ers to go to yoga at least once a month. we go to yoga for times like this, when you are doing the "5 gal pour into handy paint pail" move. this is the exaggerated version of the move. luckily i never do the exaggerated version and, thus, don't have to go to yoga for the entirety of summer.

high school #4
so this week kate shows up to work in some new glasses. the current fad is to buy cheap glasses that your father would have worn in the 80's.
here is a picture of kate and i. lisa and i are having her model what is currently "in" in the adult world and what she has to look forward to. i'm stylin her glasses..... and looking very uncool

science fair
so today at frito lay, we felt like we were at a junior high science fair. here is lisa, pretending to present her booth about "national gay and lesbian month." thank you, lisa, for having such an informational presentation on a gross yellow foam core board. :)sadly enough, we actually get (or maybe a better word is "have") to make our own presentation/booth thing like this for the parade of homes, coming up late july-sept

basement bathroom
dear bloggers, i really really appreciate the 2 of you who voted for orange for my bathroom. it is, after all, my favorite color and i would have loved to put it with the green down there. however, we had a purple rug transferred over from the apartment and the last thing i wanted was a vitamin cottage cycling team bathroomi'm sure you are sick of looking at my bathrooms by now but here is the end result! no more toilet hugging, YAHOO!

thank you blog readers
dear blog readers: thank you for voting on our bathroom! it looks pretty amazing and dallas even found matching trash can (brown on top, green on bottom) to match. sorry for the pic as the paint is still drying. i dont' have any before/after. take my word, it was pretty awful before
also, we must be getting old. our friday nights consist of painting our bathroom and helping william capture moths flying around the light.
wait for it, wait for it.....
wait for it, wait for it.....

talk about high maintenance
sorry for blogging delay. i have been sick for the last couple days and since dallas has been out of town for work i have resorted to letting william be my RKC (registered kitty cat), which really amounts to nothing except furry, shedding, company. william enjoys this job a lot. this is what i woke up to the other day. (you have to look closely. it's willie on his back sleeping with me)so i have started painting my bathroom and realized that dallas is incredibly more high maintenance than me.

high school #3
so now days high schoolers think it is very important to pretend they are dogs and mark everything. this is not to necessarily warn you that it is theirs. simply, more like they're trying to leave their legacy or something. i'm pretty confused by it all. in this instance it was most annoying picking up the color pack and getting chalk all over your hands. we still love you kate!yes this says "here too"

i need blogger help
so today, we went on a tough girl mtn bike ride. it was a pretty fun course with about 3 rocks so i was ok with it. of course i have to be the one that slides out on the sand. i'm so un-cool
tonight, while unpacking dallas' "take a guess" box i discovered this. yes, this may only seem like a bottle of pink fingernail polish, but you should be impressed with the fact that i've kept track of it for over 2 years. i pulled it out and dallas says "you're actually painting your nails!?". i think that is a bad sign. anyway.... i decided 2 years ago that i'd buy a bottle of nailpolish and use it on the toenails until it was all used up. i have over 1/2 of it left.
this is what i need help with. i need you to vote (on the right hand side of blog) on the bathroom color. we painted the bottom half of our bathroom "wasabi" and now looking at it, i kind of like the brown on top, but was going to go with yellow. (we are changing shower curtain, don't worry) please help me decide!

dallas' friday lunch
once upon a time i used to make dallas lunches to take to work. unfortunately for him i don't do this anymore as i figured he's a big boy and can make what he wants for his lunch. here is friday's lunch.yes, this is a fresca, 1 1/2" thick pb&j, and a bag of 8 cookies, peanut m&m's, and a kit kat bar. i think i'm going to have to start making him lunches again.

high school #2
you know how most polo shirts are pretty big on the sides and make you look (and feel) wider than you actually are? well, today when i pick kate up for work i notice that her polo fits her incredibly well. i thought, well geez i should be shopping where kate shops.
in case you're wondering what the "in" thing to do is..... borrow your younger brothers' polo shirt (that is oversized for him, and while he out of state at camp and doesn't know you're plastering in his clothing), and then safety pin the back so that you have no slack in the front. a good example of this is what they do to maniquens at the clothing store

summer help
so this summer we have some fabulous help. kate is really fun to have around. here is kate
although she does not look, nor act like it, kate is in high school. it has been several years since i was at this stage in life and find it pretty interesting to watch what high schoolers do these days. i'm going to start blogging about "the things high schoolers do." today's example is kate taping. notice how she skips a 2' stretch of window and moves on. i don't understand.what are schools teaching youth these days.... you give 'em books and give 'em books and they still don't learn....
