baby it's cold outside!

i'm sure that story isn't new to many of you.
ezra wants to go play so badly outside.
this morning i threw the frisbee 6 times while the car was warming.
after that we had to cuddle him up in a blanket until his uncontrollable shivering stopped.

poor, low-body fat, little haired dog. :(
not that i'm out that much in the cold, but it doesn't bother me as much as ez.
maybe i have a much higher body fat?
(don't answer that!)

yesterday i stepped out the front porch, almost falling on the ice, and after i realized that everything was covered in it ---quickly decided that it was time to have the stomach flu.
i called in sick.
:)

as if a pit bull wasn't enough,
dallas feels much better about me staying home alone now.

here we are, almost entirely thru january---i can't believe it.

this week was frustrating, busy, and more frustrating, and sad.

1) you can blame my lack of blogging on this: i come back from a ride on Wed to discover my phone is non responsive. not even the magical guys at the mall who claim to CPR phones could save it. the most "awesome" part of the entire experience was that blackberries don't save numbers to the sim card, so, i lost EVERYTHING. every single contact, picture, really anything was gone.

because i was so angry at the whole bb thing (i've had this wonderful phone for 3 years. i loved it. it was easy to use, it had lost it's battery cover a long time ago and the battery was since scotch taped in--- this phone was loved people!), i got this non bb thing, which after it was all purchased, i come to find out that the buttonless thing is actually an android (whatever that is). guess i'm in the new age now, or so they say. so i've been busy trying to gather every lost number out there.

2) as many of you may know, i was 90% all set up for a new job. all i was waiting for was the contract to sign... which has since all fell thru. i'm pretty bummed but maybe i'ts for a reason...who knows. so that was frustrating...

3) last night i officially dropped my drawing class. it just wasn't doing it for me. most of it was instructor frustration. i mean, on thursday i drew a stegeousaures. instead, now on those nights i can let beth practice massagues instead. it might not be a bad trade.

4) and to top things off, appropriately on kansas day, the sunflower showdown occurred. those of you that don't know--- this is a hot rival of ksu vs. ku. in this particular showdown (like many), ksu got trampled mercilessly on national television. guess i'll be taking my ksu flag down outside. so much for being #3 preseason. at any rate, the cookies were delicious.

it was also my friend beth's birthday and i made her a birthday triffle. it was actually gorgeous all lit up with almost 2 boxes of candles but looking back, probably lighting that many candles set in coolwhip in a plastic container wans't such a good idea. happy birthday beth!

today we went snowshoeing.
it was fun.
but not real fun.
i'm definitely jones'in for a race number
or some kind of competition
or a finish line
or someone timing me.
i'm in horrible shape right now, but i'd take last place!!!

it was 27 and cloudy, and wind whipping thru the trees....
which turns ez into a weenie dog who requires:
1) muscle shirt (which used to fit him as jacket until he got fat)
2) booties
he looks ridiculous but it makes him last a little longer. currently he gets tired 2 hrs in. look how pitiful this is!

it's boring but a good workout, so i still agree to participate,
and next time, i promise to be a better sport about the trip.
i realize i was a real party pooper stinker today.

We had to cut Danielle off at one cookie.

I realize that ksu lost today, but couldn't be happier about ku losing to TX. Maybe now it will be easier for ku to lose again next sat.

Yikes!

Since I didn't get accepted into pa school I decided to do something fun for myself and sign up for drawing 1 at the community college. Its been awhile since I've done the drawing thing and I can't Tell you how much I've missed it!

Like any other art class, assignment 1 is to do a self portrait. This is by far my least favorite assignment ever. Since when did I get so many hard lines and wrinkles in my face. So above is my effort. Scary, I know. Please don't judge....

this year i am making truffles for neighbor presents.
its more like, truffles for everyone.
(so you better like them!)
(truffle assembly line. i broke down and got a double boiler. it was worth the $15. i was tired of burning myself on boiling water)

i've made double batches of almost everything and the freezer is stocked. i can proudly say that we're on our LAST batch (coconut)!

between the truffles at thanksgiving and these Christmas truffles i've gone thru approximately...

2 bags nuts
2 bags coconuts
5 cans sweetened condensed milk
8lbs dipping chocolatethey're alot of work, but they might be better than making cookies....
just maybe!

ez has been fighting me for kitchen space.
he decided to make doggie treats for his friends this year.
so don't be offended if he gives you a bag,
he just wants to be your buddy.
