Soooo fortunate
So happy that Dallas' chain snapped only a block from the bike shop today. He had to Fred flintstone it in. And the bike shop guys were super friendly. Bonus. This is the first time since moving to co that d has had a cassette larger than a 23. (25 was the lowest the shop had so we took it).

Lucy the rooster
I've had my suspicions for quite some time now, but it has become very obvious that Lucy is actually a Ricky. Whoops. So, if anyone knows of someone wanting a silver laced Wyandotte rooster, let me know!

Busy week!
While still sick, I went hiking in the maroon bells area with friends- who submitted their 58th and last (!) 14er. I decided to stop before my congested head exploded. We did get to see a black bear and moose in the wild and hung out for a while with mr mountain goat. All to come home and see a double rainbow and get our first egg. Happy someone decided to lay something as we were beginning to think they were duds.

Finally made summit!
D and I finally made antero summit yesterday. It's been eluding us for years now and 3rd time is a charm. Finally done with all of the mtns around Buena vista! And what would a summit be without jumping pics?

Family vacation
When plans changed for our family vacation I was in charge of making yet another list of things for people to choose. Fortunately my #1 choice, get and install toilet actually got come. Happy vacation, dad! :) I have no idea why people crossed out "open a cannibus business weekend certification seminar".

Golden gran fondo
Today Dallas and I did the gran Frando. D did 90 miles and about 10,200' climbing. I only did 60 with about 7200' climbing. We all started out together. Was a fun day!

Hiking
Also got out to get some altitude training in with friends. The dogs had a great time! Although we didn't summit (weather and very large snow cornices) it was still a good day!
Dallas races the hundito!
This weekend Dallas did the 50 mi mtn bike race in Bailey. It was so nice to skip town and be in the mtns. Considering all the mechanicals he had, he still did really well!

Opal
The big girls are getting big and have clucks instead of cheeps. Opal is one of my favorites. Beautiful and grey. (Although a total weenie scardie cat).
Uncle quacker and crew
Love their lettuce. Today I set them up in the pool complete with a layout beach.

our week
where have we been all week? home. but it's been a busy one! with my parents on vacation to NYC we've had the dogs. and it's actually been a lot better than we were expecting. it's been a while since we've had a 4 month old puppy around and were a bit nervous to see what would happen to our belongings. (esp the chickens). to demonstrate our our week has gone, i've constructed a simple flow chart.

ammendment
in regards to the last post, just moments after this picture was taken dallas was using the air compressor he brought along to pump air in the opposite way and clear his gas line. unfortunately the gas cap that i was standing next to flew off and sprayed my entire side with gasoline.
dallas told me that i was now in his "greasers" club, an opportunity of which i'm not really thrilled to have come across.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere
Today, practicing for my downhill marathon I parked up on 40 and ran back down the hill home. D has been wanting to take his truck up 40 so it thought he could definitely drive me back to my car. The fuel filter is plugged (or something) and we had to stop every 100 yards on the way up. Now that we are here it has turned into a car shop. It would have been faster to ride my bike here.
