where have we been all week?  home.  but it's been a busy one!  with my parents on vacation to NYC we've had the dogs.  and it's actually been a lot better than we were expecting.  it's been a while since we've had a 4 month old puppy around and were a bit nervous to see what would happen to our belongings.  (esp the chickens).  to demonstrate our our week has gone, i've constructed a simple flow chart.

in regards to the last post, just moments after this picture was taken dallas was using the air compressor he brought along to pump air in the opposite way and clear his gas line.  unfortunately the gas cap that i was standing next to flew off and sprayed my entire side with gasoline. 

dallas told me that i was now in his "greasers" club, an opportunity of which i'm not really thrilled to have come across.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere

Today, practicing for my downhill marathon I parked up on 40 and ran back down the hill home. D has been wanting to take his truck up 40 so it thought he could definitely drive me back to my car. The fuel filter is plugged (or something) and we had to stop every 100 yards on the way up. Now that we are here it has turned into a car shop. It would have been faster to ride my bike here.

Frank-N-bean update

If you would like to babysit an overly hyper active dog, come on over. She feels great. Vet called.... They had to do more cultures, but, it is NOT cancer. Yay!!! Almost feel like having a cancer free party. Anyone game?

Beauty rest

We have been debating on getting the dogs a new/another bed for some time now. I happened to find one hat somewhat matched our rug and picked it up. Turns out it is actually a kitty throne. Who knew. Hope fritz enjoys his nap on the beauty rest.

Welcome home bean!

Bella came home last night post a big day. Besides a CT, she got holes drilled in her head to drain the sinus cavity and biopsies taken. She is doing remarkably well compared to what I was expecting. Will just keep her pain levels comfortable until the results come back (prelims hopefully Friday) and we can develop some kind of treatment plan. The MD said this is a really abnormal case and they are all baffled by it. I expect nothing else from our dogs. I seem to have a radar for Medically HM (high maintenance) dogs. No one is happier than fritz, who has been purring by her side since her return.

Bean hasn't been herself lately. When she makes Ezra look hyper something is terribly wrong. But when she started losing balance, staring off into space and had head swelling, we rushed her in to yet another long night at the doggie er. (This isn't our first time in there- but ez was happy to avoid it this time). She ended ip staying the night and is there for more testing today. It makes for a lonely house here. Fritz is lonely and I miss having an annoying white ball of energy flying around.

Normally we are not too fond of rabbits over here, (they are taking over the neighborhood). but he was missing quite a bit of hair on his bunny butt and I felt sorry for him. He is on the loose again.

Fun Friday

"Fun" isn't all fun. Today Juan (the contractor) and I started on the egress window. 6 years after buying our house and thought it was about time for a basement escape. Just in case. He told me that you typically move 20+ wheelbarrows of dirt. Combine that with weenie arms and it was REAL fun. Then the doggies got to go on a joy ride thru the hood.

Today was nice enough for the girls to come outside for the afternoon. It is so fun to see them in their actual space. There is definitely a peace of mind knowing fritz is unable to touch them.

When I go home to work cows.... It doesn't look this peaceful for more than a minute. Then it's back to repeatedly getting kicked in the tibia

The girls are growing fast. And 3/5 are sprouting their tail feathers. *sigh* they grow up so fast.

No dad. Dallas didn't have to "clean up" after me, I did it all myself :). However, being I was the chief engineer/architect on this project, we can all take bets on how long it is going to stay up. A little more rock. A flower pot out in front... Will call it good soon!

End of the season

As ski season nears a close, we went up for what will probably be our last time this year (so there is one loner pass left. I don't necessarily want to waste it... Maybe if there is a good weathered weekday?). Dallas just learned how to ski this year and got his first black in!

It's been a really busy few weeks. For those of you who don't know, we are getting chickens in April. Yay!!! So there is a lot of prep to do for them. I also decided to clean up one of the corners of our yard. It was bad. However, big plans in progress. Here's a glimpse....

One of my best friends from college came out to visit for the week. It was so fun to hang out with another hyper-active adult who likes doing the exact things I like to. Skiing yesterday was awesome and a great way to end the week!
